Genesis 24:6-7
24:6 “Be careful never to take my son back there!” Abraham told him.
24:7 “The Lord, the God of heaven, who took me from my father’s house and the land of my relatives, promised me with a solemn oath, ‘To your descendants I will give this land.’ He will send his angel before you so that you may find a wife for my son from there.
Genesis 26:3
26:3 Stay
in this land. Then I will be with you and will bless you,
for I will give all these lands to you and to your descendants,
and I will fulfill
the solemn promise I made
to your father Abraham.
Genesis 27:44-45
27:44 Live with him for a little while
until your brother’s rage subsides.
27:45 Stay there
until your brother’s anger against you subsides and he forgets what you did to him. Then I’ll send someone to bring you back from there.
Why should I lose both of you in one day?”
Genesis 28:13
28:13 and the
Lord stood at its top. He said, “I am the
Lord, the God of your grandfather Abraham and the God of your father Isaac.
I will give you and your descendants the ground
you are lying on.
Genesis 28:15
28:15 I am with you!
I will protect you wherever you go and will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I promised you!”
Genesis 31:13
31:13 I am the God of Bethel,
where you anointed
the sacred stone and made a vow to me.
Now leave this land immediately
and return to your native land.’”
Acts 7:4-5
7:4 Then he went out from the country of the Chaldeans and settled in Haran. After his father died, God
made him move
to this country where you now live.
7:5 He
did not give any of it to him for an inheritance,
not even a foot of ground,
yet God
promised
to give it to him as his possession, and to his descendants after him,
even though Abraham
as yet had no child.
Hebrews 11:9
11:9 By faith he lived as a foreigner
in the promised land as though it were a foreign country, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, who were fellow heirs
of the same promise.
Hebrews 11:15-16
11:15 In fact, if they had been thinking of the land that they had left, they would have had opportunity to return.
11:16 But as it is,
they aspire to a better land, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore, God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.
