The Temptation and the Fall
3:1 Now the serpent was more shrewd
than any of the wild animals that the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Is it really true that God said, ‘You must not eat from any tree of the orchard’?”
Genesis 3:22
3:22 And the
Lord God said, “Now
that the man has become like one of us,
knowing
good and evil, he must not be allowed
to stretch out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.”
Genesis 27:19
27:19 Jacob said to his father, “I am Esau, your firstborn. I’ve done as you told me. Now sit up
and eat some of my wild game so that you can bless me.”
Genesis 27:31
27:31 He also prepared some tasty food and brought it to his father. Esau
said to him, “My father, get up
and eat some of your son’s wild game. Then you can bless me.”
Genesis 32:32
32:32 That is why to this day
the Israelites do not eat the sinew which is attached to the socket of the hip, because he struck
the socket of Jacob’s hip near the attached sinew.
