Isaiah 58:1
The Lord Desires Genuine Devotion
58:1 “Shout loudly! Don’t be quiet!
Yell as loud as a trumpet!
Confront my people with their rebellious deeds;
confront Jacob’s family with their sin!
Jeremiah 2:2
2:2 “Go and declare in the hearing of the people of Jerusalem:
‘This is what the
Lord says: “I have fond memories of you,
how devoted you were to me in your early years.
I remember how you loved me like a new bride; you followed me through the wilderness, through a land that had never been planted.

Lord says, you kings of Judah and citizens of Jerusalem!

Lord God of Israel who rules over all
says, “I will bring a disaster on this place
that will make the ears of everyone who hears about it ring!

20:4 “Are you willing to pronounce judgment?
Are you willing to pronounce judgment, son of man? Then confront them with the abominable practices of their fathers,

23:45 But upright men will punish them appropriately for their adultery and bloodshed,
because they are adulteresses and blood is on their hands.
Matthew 23:37-39
Judgment on Israel
23:37 “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those who are sent to you! How often I have longed to gather your children together as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you would have none of it!
23:38 Look, your house is left to you desolate!
23:39 For I tell you, you will not see me from now until you say, ‘Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!’”
Acts 7:51-53
7:51 “You stubborn people, with uncircumcised hearts and ears! You are always resisting the Holy Spirit, like your ancestors did!
7:52 Which of the prophets did your ancestors not persecute? They killed those who foretold long ago the coming of the Righteous One, whose betrayers and murderers you have now become!
7:53 You received the law by decrees given by angels, but you did not obey it.”
