Isaiah 8:20
8:20 Then you must recall the
Lord’s instructions and the prophetic testimony of what would happen.
Certainly they say such things because their minds are spiritually darkened.
Romans 3:19
3:19 Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world may be held accountable to God.
Romans 4:14-16
4:14 For if they become heirs by the law, faith is empty and the promise is nullified.
4:15 For the law brings wrath, because where there is no law there is no transgression
either.
4:16 For this reason it is by faith so that it may be by grace,
with the result that the promise may be certain to all the descendants – not only to those who are under the law, but also to those who have the faith of Abraham,
who is the father of us all
Romans 10:5
10:5 For Moses writes about the righteousness that is by the law: “The one who does these things will live by them.”
Galatians 3:12-13
3:12 But the law is not based on faith,
but
the one who does the works of the law
will live by them.
3:13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming
a curse for us (because it is written, “
Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”)
Galatians 3:21-22
3:21 Is the law therefore opposed to the promises of God?
Absolutely not! For if a law had been given that was able to give life, then righteousness would certainly have come by the law.
3:22 But the scripture imprisoned
everything and everyone
under sin so that the promise could be given – because of the faithfulness
of Jesus Christ – to those who believe.
