Judges 6:31
6:31 But Joash said to all those who confronted him,
“Must you fight Baal’s battles?
Must you rescue him? Whoever takes up his cause
will die by morning!
If he really is a god, let him fight his own battles!
After all, it was his altar that was pulled down.”
Judges 17:4-5
17:4 When he gave the silver back to his mother, she
took two hundred pieces of silver
to a silversmith, who made them into a carved image and a metal image. She then put them in Micah’s house.
17:5 Now this man Micah owned a shrine.
He made an ephod
and some personal idols and hired one of his sons to serve as a priest.
Exodus 32:20
32:20 He took the calf they had made and burned it in the fire, ground it
to powder, poured it out on the water, and made the Israelites drink it.

Exodus 6:2-9
6:2 God spoke to Moses and said to him, “I am the Lord.
6:3 I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob as God Almighty, but by my name ‘the Lord’ I was not known to them.
6:4 I also established my covenant with them to give them the land of Canaan, where they were living as resident foreigners.
6:5 I have also heard the groaning of the Israelites, whom the Egyptians are enslaving, and I have remembered my covenant.
6:6 Therefore, tell the Israelites, ‘I am the Lord. I will bring you out from your enslavement to the Egyptians, I will rescue you from the hard labor they impose, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments.
6:7 I will take you to myself for a people, and I will be your God. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God, who brought you out from your enslavement to the Egyptians.
6:8 I will bring you to the land I swore to give to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob – and I will give it to you as a possession. I am the Lord!’”
6:9 Moses told this to the Israelites, but they did not listen to him because of their discouragement and hard labor.
Exodus 6:2
6:2 God spoke to Moses and said to him, “I am the Lord.
Exodus 19:18-19
19:18 Now Mount Sinai was completely covered with smoke because the
Lord had descended on it in fire, and its smoke went up like the smoke of a great furnace,
and the whole mountain shook
violently.
19:19 When the sound of the horn grew louder and louder,
Moses was speaking
and God was answering him with a voice.
Isaiah 46:1-2
The Lord Carries His People
46:1 Bel kneels down,
Nebo bends low.
Their images weigh down animals and beasts.
Your heavy images are burdensome to tired animals.
46:2 Together they bend low and kneel down;
they are unable to rescue the images;
they themselves head off into captivity.
Isaiah 46:7
46:7 They put it on their shoulder and carry it;
they put it in its place and it just stands there;
it does not move from its place.
Even when someone cries out to it, it does not reply;
it does not deliver him from his distress.
