Jeremiah 1:18-19
1:18 I, the
Lord,
hereby promise to make you
as strong as a fortified city, an iron pillar, and a bronze wall. You will be able to stand up against all who live in
the land, including the kings of Judah, its officials, its priests and all the people of the land.
1:19 They will attack you but they will not be able to overcome you, for I will be with you to rescue you,” says the
Lord.
Jeremiah 6:27
6:27 The Lord said to me,
“I have made you like a metal assayer
to test my people like ore.
You are to observe them
and evaluate how they behave.”
Ezekiel 3:9
3:9 I have made your forehead harder than flint – like diamond!
Do not fear them or be terrified of the looks they give you,
for they are a rebellious house.”
Acts 4:8-13
4:8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit,
replied,
“Rulers of the people and elders,
4:9 if
we are being examined
today for a good deed
done to a sick man – by what means this man was healed
–
4:10 let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel that by the name of Jesus Christ
the Nazarene whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, this man stands before you healthy.
4:11 This Jesus
is
the stone that was rejected by you,
the builders, that has become the cornerstone.
4:12 And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among people
by which we must
be saved.”
4:13 When they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and discovered that they were uneducated and ordinary men, they were amazed and recognized these men had been with Jesus.
Acts 4:29-31
4:29 And now, Lord, pay attention to
their threats, and grant
to your servants
to speak your message
with great courage,
4:30 while you extend your hand to heal, and to bring about miraculous signs
and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus.”
4:31 When
they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken,
and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak
the word of God
courageously.
Acts 5:29-32
5:29 But Peter and the apostles replied,
“We must obey
God rather than people.
5:30 The God of our forefathers
raised up Jesus, whom you seized and killed by hanging him on a tree.
5:31 God exalted him
to his right hand as Leader
and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.
5:32 And we are witnesses of these events,
and so is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey
him.”
