18:22 Let cries of terror be heard in their houses

when you send bands of raiders unexpectedly to plunder them.

For they have virtually dug a pit to capture me

and have hidden traps for me to step into.

I will smash this nation and this city as though it were a potter’s vessel which is broken beyond repair. The dead will be buried here in Topheth until there is no more room to bury them.’

Psalms 10:9-10

They plan how to hide snares,

and boast, “Who will see them?”

1:11 If they say, “Come with us!

We will lie in wait to shed blood;

we will ambush an innocent person capriciously.

Proverbs 1:17-18

1:17 Surely it is futile to spread a net

in plain sight of any bird,

like animals in the sea that have no ruler.
