Jeremiah 2:13
2:13 “Do so because my people have committed a double wrong:
they have rejected me,
the fountain of life-giving water,
and they have dug cisterns for themselves,
cracked cisterns which cannot even hold water.”
Jeremiah 8:3
8:3 However, I will leave some of these wicked people alive and banish them to other places. But wherever these people who survive may go, they will wish they had died rather than lived,”
says the
Lord who rules over all.
Jeremiah 11:19
11:19 Before this I had been like a docile lamb ready to be led to the slaughter.
I did not know they were making plans to kill me.
I did not know they were saying,
“Let’s destroy the tree along with its fruit!
Let’s remove Jeremiah from the world of the living
so people will not even be reminded of him any more.”
Jeremiah 12:16
12:16 But they must make sure you learn to follow the religious practices of my people.
Once they taught my people to swear their oaths using the name of the god Baal.
But then, they must swear oaths using my name, saying, “As surely as the
Lord lives, I swear.”
If they do these things,
then they will be included among the people I call my own.
Jeremiah 16:15
16:15 But in that time they will affirm them with ‘I swear as surely as the
Lord lives who delivered the people of Israel from the land of the north and from all the other lands where he had banished them.’ At that time I will bring them back to the land I gave their ancestors.”
Jeremiah 22:24
Jeconiah Will Be Permanently Exiled
22:24 The Lord says,
“As surely as I am the living God, you, Jeconiah, king of Judah, son of Jehoiakim, will not be the earthly representative of my authority. Indeed, I will take that right away from you.
Jeremiah 23:8
23:8 But at that time they will affirm them with “I swear as surely as the
Lord lives who delivered the descendants of the former nation of Israel
from the land of the north and from all the other lands where he had banished
them.”
At that time they will live in their own land.’”
Jeremiah 27:6
27:6 I have at this time placed all these nations of yours under the power
of my servant,
King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon. I have even made all the wild animals subject to him.
Jeremiah 28:14
28:14 For the
Lord God of Israel who rules over all
says, “I have put an irresistible yoke of servitude on all these nations
so they will serve King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon. And they will indeed serve him. I have even given him control over the wild animals.”’”
Jeremiah 38:16
38:16 So King Zedekiah made a secret promise to Jeremiah and sealed it with an oath. He promised,
“As surely as the
Lord lives who has given us life and breath,
I promise you this: I will not kill you or hand you over to those men who want to kill you.”
