Jeremiah 2:19
2:19 Your own wickedness will bring about your punishment.
Your unfaithful acts will bring down discipline on you.
Know, then, and realize how utterly harmful
it was for you to reject me, the Lord your God,
to show no respect for me,”
says the Lord God who rules over all.
Jeremiah 6:11
6:11 I am as full of anger as you are, Lord,
I am tired of trying to hold it in.”
The Lord answered,
“Vent it, then, on the children who play in the street
and on the young men who are gathered together.
Husbands and wives are to be included,
as well as the old and those who are advanced in years.
Jeremiah 8:2
8:2 They will be spread out and exposed to the sun, the moon and the stars.
These are things they
adored and served, things to which they paid allegiance,
from which they sought guidance, and worshiped. The bones of these people
will never be regathered and reburied. They will be like manure used to fertilize the ground.

Jeremiah Petitions the Lord to Punish Those Who Attack Him
18:18 Then some people said, “Come on! Let us consider how to deal with Jeremiah! There will still be priests to instruct us, wise men to give us advice, and prophets to declare God’s word. Come on! Let’s bring charges against him and get rid of him! Then we will not need to pay attention to anything he says.”
Jeremiah 22:6
22:6 “‘For the Lord says concerning the palace of the king of Judah,
“This place looks like a veritable forest of Gilead to me.
It is like the wooded heights of Lebanon in my eyes.
But I swear that I will make it like a wilderness
whose towns have all been deserted.

26:2 The
Lord said, “Go stand in the courtyard of the
Lord’s temple.
Speak out to all the people who are coming from the towns of Judah to worship in the
Lord’s temple. Tell them everything I command you to tell them. Do not leave out a single word!

27:16 I also told the priests and all the people, “The Lord says, ‘Do not listen to what your prophets are saying. They are prophesying to you that the valuable articles taken from the Lord’s temple will be brought back from Babylon very soon. But they are prophesying a lie to you.
Jeremiah 32:29
32:29 The Babylonian soldiers
that are attacking this city will break into it and set it on fire. They will burn it down along with the houses where people have made me angry by offering sacrifices to the god Baal and by pouring out drink offerings to other gods on their rooftops.
Jeremiah 33:9
33:9 All the nations will hear about all the good things which I will do to them. This city will bring me fame, honor, and praise before them for the joy that I bring it. The nations will tremble in awe at all the peace and prosperity that I will provide for it.’
Jeremiah 34:5
34:5 You will die a peaceful death. They will burn incense at your burial just as they did at the burial of your ancestors, the former kings who preceded you.
They will mourn for you, saying, “Poor, poor master!”
Indeed, you have my own word on this.
I, the
Lord, affirm it!’”
Jeremiah 35:14
35:14 Jonadab son of Rechab ordered his descendants not to drink wine. His orders have been carried out.
To this day his descendants have drunk no wine because they have obeyed what their ancestor commanded them. But I
have spoken to you over and over again,
but you have not obeyed me!

35:17 So I, the
Lord, the God who rules over all, the God of Israel, say:
“I will soon bring on Judah and all the citizens of Jerusalem all the disaster that I threatened to bring on them. I will do this because I spoke to them but they did not listen. I called out to them but they did not answer.”’”
Jeremiah 36:31
36:31 I will punish him and his descendants and the officials who serve him for the wicked things they have done.
I will bring on them, the citizens of Jerusalem,
and the people of Judah all the disaster that I threatened to do to them. I will punish them because I threatened them but they still paid no heed.”’”

38:25 The officials may hear that I have talked with you. They may come to you and say, ‘Tell us what you said to the king and what the king said to you.
Do not hide anything from us. If you do, we will kill you.’

40:10 I for my part will stay at Mizpah to represent you before the Babylonians
whenever they come to us. You for your part go ahead and harvest the wine, the dates, the figs,
and the olive oil, and store them in jars. Go ahead and settle down in the towns that you have taken over.”

42:10 ‘If you will just stay
in this land, I will build you up. I will not tear you down. I will firmly plant you.
I will not uproot you. For I am filled with sorrow because of the disaster that I have brought on you.

44:8 That is what will result from your making me angry by what you are doing.
You are making me angry by sacrificing to other gods here in the land of Egypt where you live. You will be destroyed for doing that! You will become an example used in curses
and an object of ridicule among all the nations of the earth.
