Jeremiah 26:2
26:2 The
Lord said, “Go stand in the courtyard of the
Lord’s temple.
Speak out to all the people who are coming from the towns of Judah to worship in the
Lord’s temple. Tell them everything I command you to tell them. Do not leave out a single word!
Jeremiah 26:15
26:15 But you should take careful note of this: If you put me to death, you will bring on yourselves and this city and those who live in it the guilt of murdering an innocent man. For the
Lord has sent me to speak all this where you can hear it. That is the truth!”
Jeremiah 1:17-18
1:17 “But you, Jeremiah, get yourself ready! Go and tell these people everything I instruct you to say. Do not be terrified of them, or I will give you good reason to be terrified of them.
1:18 I, the Lord, hereby promise to make you as strong as a fortified city, an iron pillar, and a bronze wall. You will be able to stand up against all who live in the land, including the kings of Judah, its officials, its priests and all the people of the land.
Jeremiah 19:1-3
An Object Lesson from a Broken Clay Jar
19:1 The Lord told Jeremiah, “Go and buy a clay jar from a potter. Take with you some of the leaders of the people and some of the leaders of the priests.
19:2 Go out to the part of the Hinnom Valley which is near the entrance of the Potsherd Gate. Announce there what I tell you.
19:3 Say, ‘Listen to what the Lord says, you kings of Judah and citizens of Jerusalem! The Lord God of Israel who rules over all says, “I will bring a disaster on this place that will make the ears of everyone who hears about it ring!
Amos 7:15-17
7:15 Then the
Lord took me from tending
flocks and gave me this commission,
‘Go! Prophesy to my people Israel!’
7:16 So now listen to the
Lord’s message! You say, ‘Don’t prophesy against Israel! Don’t preach
against the family of Isaac!’
7:17 “Therefore this is what the Lord says:
‘Your wife will become a prostitute in the streets
and your sons and daughters will die violently.
Your land will be given to others
and you will die in a foreign land.
Israel will certainly be carried into exile away from its land.’”
Acts 4:19
4:19 But Peter and John replied,
“Whether it is right before God to obey
you rather than God, you decide,
