Jeremiah 3:1
3:1 “If a man divorces his wife
and she leaves him and becomes another man’s wife,
he may not take her back again.
Doing that would utterly defile the land.
But you, Israel, have given yourself as a prostitute to many gods.
So what makes you think you can return to me?”
says the Lord.
Jeremiah 29:14
29:14 I will make myself available to you,’
says the
Lord.
‘Then I will reverse your plight
and will regather you from all the nations and all the places where I have exiled you,’ says the
Lord.
‘I will bring you back to the place from which I exiled you.’
Jeremiah 30:3
30:3 For I, the
Lord, affirm
that the time will come when I will reverse the plight
of my people, Israel and Judah,’ says the
Lord. ‘I will bring them back to the land I gave their ancestors
and they will take possession of it once again.’”
Jeremiah 34:16
34:16 But then you turned right around
and showed that you did not honor me.
Each of you took back your male and female slaves whom you had freed as they desired, and you forced them to be your slaves again.
