Jeremiah 4:30
4:30 And you, Zion, city doomed to destruction,
you accomplish nothing by wearing a beautiful dress,
decking yourself out in jewels of gold,
and putting on eye shadow!
You are making yourself beautiful for nothing.
Your lovers spurn you.
They want to kill you.
Jeremiah 5:3
5:3 Lord, I know you look for faithfulness.
But even when you punish these people, they feel no remorse.
Even when you nearly destroy them, they refuse to be corrected.
They have become as hardheaded as a rock.
They refuse to change their ways.
Jeremiah 9:12
9:12 I said,
“Who is wise enough to understand why this has happened?
Who has a word from the Lord that can explain it?
Why does the land lie in ruins?
Why is it as scorched as a desert through which no one travels?”
Jeremiah 14:16
14:16 The people to whom they are prophesying will die through war and famine. Their bodies will be thrown out into the streets of Jerusalem
and there will be no one to bury them. This will happen to the men and their wives, their sons, and their daughters.
For I will pour out on them the destruction they deserve.”
Jeremiah 23:2
23:2 So the
Lord God of Israel has this to say about the leaders who are ruling over his people: “You have caused my people
to be dispersed and driven into exile. You have not taken care of them. So I will punish you for the evil that you have done.
I, the
Lord, affirm it!
Jeremiah 27:8
27:8 But suppose a nation or a kingdom will not be subject to King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon. Suppose it will not submit to the yoke of servitude to
him. I, the
Lord, affirm that
I will punish that nation. I will use the king of Babylon to punish it
with war,
starvation, and disease until I have destroyed it.
Jeremiah 36:29
36:29 Tell King Jehoiakim of Judah, ‘The
Lord says, “You burned the scroll. You asked
Jeremiah, ‘How dare you write in this scroll that the king of Babylon will certainly come and destroy this land and wipe out all the people and animals on it?’”
Jeremiah 39:16
39:16 “Go
and tell Ebed-Melech the Ethiopian, ‘The
Lord God of Israel who rules over all says, “I will carry out against this city what I promised. It will mean disaster and not good fortune for it.
When that disaster happens, you will be there to see it.
Jeremiah 48:2
48:2 People will not praise Moab any more.
The enemy will capture Heshbon and plot how to destroy Moab,
saying, ‘Come, let’s put an end to that nation!’
City of Madmen, you will also be destroyed.
A destructive army will march against you.
