18:16 Below his roots dry up,
and his branches wither above.
18:17 His memory perishes from the earth,
he has no name in the land.
18:18 He is driven from light into darkness
and is banished from the world.
18:19 He has neither children nor descendants among his people,
no survivor in those places he once stayed.
Proverbs 10:7
10:7 The memory of the righteous is a blessing,
but the reputation of the wicked will rot.
Jeremiah 51:62-64
51:62 Then say, ‘O
Lord, you have announced that you will destroy this place so that no people or animals live in it any longer. Certainly it will lie desolate forever!’
51:63 When you finish reading this scroll aloud, tie a stone to it and throw it into the middle of the Euphrates River.
51:64 Then say, ‘In the same way Babylon will sink and never rise again because of the judgments
I am ready to bring upon her; they will grow faint.’”
The prophecies of Jeremiah end here.
