Job Regrets His Birth

3:1 After this Job opened his mouth and cursed the day he was born.

Job 33:2

33:2 See now, I have opened my mouth;

my tongue in my mouth has spoken.

Job 33:8-12

Elihu Rejects Job’s Plea of Innocence

33:8 “Indeed, you have said in my hearing

(I heard the sound of the words!):

33:9 ‘I am pure, without transgression;

I am clean and have no iniquity.

33:10 Yet God finds occasions with me;

he regards me as his enemy!

33:11 He puts my feet in shackles;

he watches closely all my paths.’

33:12 Now in this, you are not right – I answer you,

for God is greater than a human being.

Job 34:35-37

34:35 that Job speaks without knowledge

and his words are without understanding.

34:36 But Job will be tested to the end,

because his answers are like those of wicked men.

34:37 For he adds transgression to his sin;

in our midst he claps his hands,

and multiplies his words against God.”

Job 38:2

38:2 “Who is this who darkens counsel

with words without knowledge?
