John 11:47-52
11:47 So the chief priests and the Pharisees
called the council
together and said, “What are we doing? For this man is performing many miraculous signs.
11:48 If we allow him to go on in this way,
everyone will believe in him, and the Romans will come and take away our sanctuary
and our nation.”
11:49 Then one of them, Caiaphas, who was high priest that year, said, “You know nothing at all!
11:50 You do not realize that it is more to your advantage to have one man die for the people than for the whole nation to perish.”
11:51 (Now he did not say this on his own, but because he was high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus was going to die for the Jewish nation,
11:52 and not for the Jewish nation only, but to gather together into one the children of God who are scattered.)
John 12:23-24
12:23 Jesus replied,
“The time
has come for the Son of Man to be glorified.
12:24 I tell you the solemn truth,
unless a kernel of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains by itself alone.
But if it dies, it produces
much grain.
John 12:1
Jesus’ Anointing
12:1 Then, six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus lived, whom he had raised from the dead.
John 3:17-18
3:17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world,
but that the world should be saved through him.
3:18 The one who believes in him is not condemned.
The one who does not believe has been condemned
already, because he has not believed in the name of the one and only
Son of God.
