Prayer and the Parable of the Persistent Widow

18:1 Then Jesus told them a parable to show them they should always pray and not lose heart.

The Shepherds’ Visit

2:8 Now there were shepherds nearby living out in the field, keeping guard over their flock at night.

Job 5:11-13

that those who mourn are raised to safety.

so that their hands cannot accomplish

what they had planned!

Psalms 107:40-41

107:40 He would pour contempt upon princes,

and he made them wander in a wasteland with no road.

107:41 Yet he protected the needy from oppression,

and cared for his families like a flock of sheep.

Psalms 113:6-8

113:6 He bends down to look

at the sky and the earth.

113:7 He raises the poor from the dirt,

and lifts up the needy from the garbage pile,

113:8 that he might seat him with princes,

with the princes of his people.

Ecclesiastes 4:14

4:14 For he came out of prison to become king,

even though he had been born poor in what would become his kingdom.

Ezekiel 17:24

17:24 All the trees of the field will know that I am the Lord.

I make the high tree low; I raise up the low tree.

9:11 “In that day I will rebuild the collapsing hut of David.

I will seal its gaps,

repair its ruins,

and restore it to what it was like in days gone by.
