Luke 3:16
3:16 John answered them all,
“I baptize you with water,
but one more powerful than I am is coming – I am not worthy
to untie the strap
of his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
Luke 5:12
Healing a Leper
5:12 While Jesus was in one of the towns, a man came to him who was covered with leprosy. When he saw Jesus, he bowed down with his face to the ground and begged him, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.”
Luke 5:24
5:24 But so that you may know
that the Son of Man
has authority on earth to forgive sins” – he said to the paralyzed man
– “I tell you, stand up, take your stretcher
and go home.”
Luke 5:36
5:36 He also told them a parable:
“No one tears a patch from a new garment and sews
it on an old garment. If he does, he will have torn
the new, and the piece from the new will not match the old.
Luke 6:42
6:42 How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me remove the speck from your eye,’ while you yourself don’t see the beam in your own? You hypocrite! First remove the beam from your own eye, and then you can see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
Luke 7:6
7:6 So
Jesus went with them. When
he was not far from the house, the centurion
sent friends to say to him, “Lord, do not trouble yourself,
for I am not worthy
to have you come under my roof.
Luke 9:12-13
9:12 Now the day began to draw to a close,
so
the twelve came and said to Jesus,
“Send the crowd away, so they can go into the surrounding villages and countryside and find lodging
and food, because we are in an isolated place.”
9:13 But he said to them, “You
give them something to eat.” They
replied,
“We have no more than five loaves and two fish – unless
we go
and buy food
for all these people.”
Luke 9:33
9:33 Then
as the men
were starting to leave,
Peter said to Jesus, “Master, it is good for us to be here. Let us make three shelters,
one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah” – not knowing what he was saying.
Luke 13:14
13:14 But the president of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the crowd, “There are six days on which work
should be done!
So come
and be healed on those days, and not on the Sabbath day.”
Luke 13:25
13:25 Once
the head of the house
gets up
and shuts the door, then you will stand outside and start to knock on the door and beg him, ‘Lord,
let us in!’
But he will answer you,
‘I don’t know where you come from.’
Luke 14:12
14:12 He said also to the man who had invited him, “When you host a dinner or a banquet, don’t invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or rich neighbors so you can be invited by them in return and get repaid.
