Mark 6:49-50
6:49 When they saw him walking on the water
they thought he was a ghost. They
cried out,
6:50 for they all saw him and were terrified. But immediately he spoke to them:
“Have courage! It is I. Do not be afraid.”
Daniel 8:17
8:17 So he approached the place where I was standing. As he came, I felt terrified and fell flat on the ground.
Then he said to me, “Understand, son of man,
that the vision pertains to the time of the end.”
Daniel 10:7-9
10:7 Only I, Daniel, saw the vision; the men who were with me did not see it. On the contrary, they were overcome with fright and ran away to hide.
10:8 I alone was left to see this great vision. My strength drained from me, and my vigor disappeared; I was without energy.
10:9 I listened to his voice, and as I did so I fell into a trance-like sleep with my face to the ground.
Daniel 10:12
10:12 Then he said to me, “Don’t be afraid, Daniel, for from the very first day you applied your mind
to understand and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard. I have come in response to your words.
Luke 1:12
1:12 And Zechariah, visibly shaken when he saw the angel,
was seized with fear.
Luke 1:29-30
1:29 But
she was greatly troubled
by his words and began to wonder about the meaning of this greeting.
1:30 So
the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid,
Mary, for you have found favor
with God!
