Matthew 26:45-47
26:45 Then he came to the disciples and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Look, the hour is approaching, and the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
26:46 Get up, let us go. Look! My betrayer
is approaching!”
Betrayal and Arrest
26:47 While he was still speaking, Judas, one of the twelve, arrived. With him was a large crowd armed with swords and clubs, sent by the chief priests and elders of the people.
Mark 14:41-43
14:41 He came a third time and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting?
Enough of that!
The hour has come. Look, the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
14:42 Get up, let us go. Look! My betrayer
is approaching!”
Betrayal and Arrest
14:43 Right away, while Jesus was still speaking, Judas, one of the twelve, arrived. With him came a crowd armed with swords and clubs, sent by the chief priests and experts in the law and elders.
John 18:2-9
18:2 (Now Judas, the one who betrayed him, knew the place too, because Jesus had met there many times
with his disciples.)
18:3 So Judas obtained a squad of soldiers
and some officers of the chief priests and Pharisees.
They came to the orchard
with lanterns
and torches and weapons.
18:4 Then Jesus, because he knew everything that was going to happen to him, came and asked them, “Who are you looking for?”
18:5 They replied, “Jesus the Nazarene.” He told them, “I am he.” (Now Judas, the one who betrayed him, was standing there with them.)
18:6 So when Jesus said to them, “I am he,” they retreated and fell to the ground.
18:7 Then Jesus asked them again, “Who are you looking for?” And they said, “Jesus the Nazarene.”
18:8 Jesus replied, “I told you that I am he. If you are looking for me, let these men go.”
18:9 He said this to fulfill the word he had spoken, “I have not lost a single one of those whom you gave me.”
