Numbers 14:11
The Punishment from God
14:11 The Lord said to Moses, “How long will this people despise me, and how long will they not believe in me, in spite of the signs that I have done among them?
Numbers 14:21
14:21 But truly, as I live,
all the earth will be filled with the glory of the
Lord.
Numbers 14:23
14:23 they will by no means
see the land that I swore to their fathers, nor will any of them who despised me see it.
Numbers 14:29
14:29 Your dead bodies
will fall in this wilderness – all those of you who were numbered, according to your full number, from twenty years old and upward, who have murmured against me.
Deuteronomy 1:34-40
Judgment at Kadesh Barnea
1:34 When the Lord heard you, he became angry and made this vow:
1:35 “Not a single person of this evil generation will see the good land that I promised to give to your ancestors!
1:36 The exception is Caleb son of Jephunneh; he will see it and I will give him and his descendants the territory on which he has walked, because he has wholeheartedly followed me.”
1:37 As for me, the Lord was also angry with me on your account. He said, “You also will not be able to go there.
1:38 However, Joshua son of Nun, your assistant, will go. Encourage him, because he will enable Israel to inherit the land.
1:39 Also, your infants, who you thought would die on the way, and your children, who as yet do not know good from bad, will go there; I will give them the land and they will possess it.
1:40 But as for you, turn back and head for the desert by the way to the Red Sea.”
Psalms 95:11
95:11 So I made a vow in my anger,
‘They will never enter into the resting place I had set aside for them.’”
Ezekiel 20:15
20:15 I also swore
to them in the wilderness that I would not bring them to the land I had given them – a land flowing with milk and honey, the most beautiful of all lands.
Hebrews 3:8-19
3:8 “Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, in the day of testing in the wilderness.
3:9 “There your fathers tested me and tried me, and they saw my works for forty years.
3:10 “Therefore, I became provoked at that generation and said, ‘Their hearts are always wandering and they have not known my ways.’
3:11 “As I swore in my anger, ‘They will never enter my rest!’”
3:12 See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has an evil, unbelieving heart that forsakes the living God.
3:13 But exhort one another each day, as long as it is called “Today,” that none of you may become hardened by sin’s deception.
3:14 For we have become partners with Christ, if in fact we hold our initial confidence firm until the end.
3:15 As it says, “Oh, that today you would listen as he speaks! Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”
3:16 For which ones heard and rebelled? Was it not all who came out of Egypt under Moses’ leadership?
3:17 And against whom was God provoked for forty years? Was it not those who sinned, whose dead bodies fell in the wilderness?
3:18 And to whom did he swear they would never enter into his rest, except those who were disobedient?
3:19 So we see that they could not enter because of unbelief.
