Proverbs 23:23
23:23 Acquire truth and do not sell it –
wisdom, and discipline, and understanding.
Matthew 13:44-46
Parables on the Kingdom of Heaven
13:44 “The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure, hidden in a field, that a person found and hid. Then because of joy he went and sold all that he had and bought that field.
13:45 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant searching for fine pearls.
13:46 When he found a pearl of great value, he went out and sold everything he had and bought it.
Matthew 19:21
19:21 Jesus said to him, “If you wish to be perfect, go sell your possessions and give the money
to the poor, and you will have treasure
in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
Luke 12:33
12:33 Sell your possessions
and give to the poor.
Provide yourselves purses that do not wear out – a treasure in heaven
that never decreases,
where no thief approaches and no moth
destroys.
Acts 2:45
2:45 and they began selling
their property
and possessions and distributing the proceeds
to everyone, as anyone had need.
Acts 4:34-37
4:34 For there was no one needy
among them, because those who were owners of land or houses were selling
them
and bringing the proceeds from the sales
4:35 and placing them at the apostles’ feet. The proceeds
were distributed to each, as anyone had need.
4:36 So Joseph, a Levite who was a native of Cyprus, called by the apostles Barnabas (which is translated “son of encouragement”),
4:37 sold
a field
that belonged to him and brought the money
and placed it at the apostles’ feet.
