Daniel 4:30-32
4:30 The king uttered these words: “Is this not the great Babylon that I have built for a royal residence
by my own mighty strength
and for my majestic honor?”
4:31 While these words were still on the king’s lips,
a voice came down from heaven: “It is hereby announced to you,
King Nebuchadnezzar, that your kingdom has been removed from you!
4:32 You will be driven from human society, and you will live with the wild animals. You will be fed grass like oxen, and seven periods of time will pass by for you before
you understand that the Most High is ruler over human kingdoms and gives them to whomever he wishes.”
Luke 14:8-11
14:8 “When you are invited by someone to a wedding feast,
do not take
the place of honor, because a person more distinguished than you may have been invited by your host.
14:9 So
the host who invited both of you will come and say to you, ‘Give this man your place.’ Then, ashamed,
you will begin to move to the least important
place.
14:10 But when you are invited, go and take the least important place, so that when your host
approaches he will say to you, ‘Friend, move up here to a better place.’
Then you will be honored in the presence of all who share the meal with you.
14:11 For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but
the one who humbles
himself will be exalted.”
Luke 18:14
18:14 I tell you that this man went down to his home justified
rather than the Pharisee.
For everyone who exalts
himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
