4:5 Acquire wisdom, acquire understanding;
do not forget and do not turn aside from the words I speak.
4:6 Do not forsake wisdom,
love her, and she will guard you.
4:7 Wisdom is supreme
and whatever you acquire,
4:8 Esteem her highly
she will honor you if you embrace her.
4:9 She will place a fair
she will bestow
8:32 “So now, children,
blessed are those who keep my ways.
8:33 Listen to my instruction
and do not neglect it.
8:34 Blessed is the one
watching
waiting
8:35 For the one who finds me finds
and receives
8:1 Does not wisdom call out?
Does not understanding raise her voice?
10:1 The Proverbs of Solomon:
A wise child
but a foolish child
10:2 Treasures gained by wickedness
but righteousness
10:3 The Lord satisfies
but he thwarts
10:4 The one who is lazy
but the one who works diligently
10:5 The one who gathers crops
but the one who sleeps
is a son who brings shame to himself.
10:6 Blessings
but the speech
10:7 The memory
but the reputation
10:8 The wise person
but the one who speaks foolishness
10:9 The one who conducts himself
but the one who behaves perversely
10:23 Carrying out a wicked scheme
and so is wisdom for the one who has discernment.
10:24 What the wicked fears
what the righteous desire
9:15 However, a poor but wise man lived in the city,
and he could have delivered
but no one listened
9:16 So I concluded that wisdom is better than might,
but a poor man’s wisdom is despised; no one ever listens
9:17 The words of the wise are heard in quiet,
more than the shouting of a ruler is heard
9:18 Wisdom is better than weapons of war,
but one sinner can destroy much that is good.
