Psalms 19:7-9
19:7 The law of the Lord is perfect
and preserves one’s life.
The rules set down by the Lord are reliable
and impart wisdom to the inexperienced.
19:8 The Lord’s precepts are fair
and make one joyful.
The Lord’s commands are pure
and give insight for life.
19:9 The commands to fear the Lord are right
and endure forever.
The judgments given by the Lord are trustworthy
and absolutely just.
Isaiah 8:20
8:20 Then you must recall the
Lord’s instructions and the prophetic testimony of what would happen.

Isaiah 41:21-23
The Lord Challenges the Pagan Gods
41:21 “Present your argument,” says the Lord.
“Produce your evidence,” says Jacob’s king.
41:22 “Let them produce evidence! Let them tell us what will happen!
Tell us about your earlier predictive oracles,
so we may examine them and see how they were fulfilled.
Or decree for us some future events!
41:23 Predict how future events will turn out,
so we might know you are gods.
Yes, do something good or bad,
so we might be frightened and in awe.
Isaiah 41:26
41:26 Who decreed this from the beginning, so we could know?
Who announced it ahead of time, so we could say, ‘He’s correct’?
Indeed, none of them decreed it!
Indeed, none of them announced it!
Indeed, no one heard you say anything!
Luke 16:29-31
16:29 But Abraham said,
‘They have Moses and the prophets; they must respond to
them.’
16:30 Then
the rich man
said, ‘No, father Abraham, but if someone from the dead
goes to them, they will repent.’
16:31 He
replied to him, ‘If they do not respond to
Moses and the prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’”
John 5:39
5:39 You study the scriptures thoroughly
because you think in them you possess eternal life,
and it is these same scriptures
that testify about me,
Acts 17:11
17:11 These Jews
were more open-minded
than those in Thessalonica,
for they eagerly
received
the message, examining
the scriptures carefully every day
to see if these things were so.
