Psalms 34:6

34:6 This oppressed man cried out and the Lord heard;

he saved him from all his troubles.

Psalms 35:9-11

35:9 Then I will rejoice in the Lord

and be happy because of his deliverance.

35:10 With all my strength I will say,

“O Lord, who can compare to you?

You rescue the oppressed from those who try to overpower them;

the oppressed and needy from those who try to rob them.”

35:11 Violent men perjure themselves,

and falsely accuse me.

Psalms 69:33

69:33 For the Lord listens to the needy;

he does not despise his captive people.

Psalms 72:4

72:4 He will defend the oppressed among the people;

he will deliver the children of the poor

and crush the oppressor.

Psalms 109:30-31

109:30 I will thank the Lord profusely,

in the middle of a crowd I will praise him,

109:31 because he stands at the right hand of the needy,

to deliver him from those who threaten his life.

Isaiah 25:4

25:4 For you are a protector for the poor,

a protector for the needy in their distress,

a shelter from the rainstorm,

a shade from the heat.

Though the breath of tyrants is like a winter rainstorm,

James 2:5-6

2:5 Listen, my dear brothers and sisters! Did not God choose the poor in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom that he promised to those who love him? 2:6 But you have dishonored the poor! Are not the rich oppressing you and dragging you into the courts?
