Psalm 3

A psalm of David, written when he fled from his son Absalom.

3:1 Lord, how numerous are my enemies!

Many attack me.

3:2 Many say about me,

“God will not deliver him.” (Selah)

Psalms 42:10

42:10 My enemies’ taunts cut into me to the bone,

as they say to me all day long, “Where is your God?”

Psalms 71:11

71:11 They say, “God has abandoned him.

Run and seize him, for there is no one who will rescue him!”

Psalms 91:14

91:14 The Lord says,

“Because he is devoted to me, I will deliver him;

I will protect him because he is loyal to me.

Mark 15:30-32

15:30 save yourself and come down from the cross!” 15:31 In the same way even the chief priests – together with the experts in the law – were mocking him among themselves: “He saved others, but he cannot save himself! 15:32 Let the Christ, the king of Israel, come down from the cross now, that we may see and believe!” Those who were crucified with him also spoke abusively to him.
