Psalms 42:3
42:3 I cannot eat, I weep day and night;
all day long they say to me, “Where is your God?”
Psalms 42:10
42:10 My enemies’ taunts cut into me to the bone,
as they say to me all day long, “Where is your God?”
Psalms 79:10
79:10 Why should the nations say, “Where is their God?”
Before our very eyes may the shed blood of your servants
be avenged among the nations!
Exodus 32:12
32:12 Why
should the Egyptians say,
‘For evil
he led them out to kill them in the mountains and to destroy
them from the face of the earth’? Turn from your burning anger, and relent
of this evil against your people.
Numbers 14:15-16
14:15 If you kill
this entire people at once,
then the nations that have heard of your fame will say,
14:16 ‘Because the
Lord was not able to bring this people into the land that he swore to them, he killed them in the wilderness.’
Deuteronomy 32:26-27
The Weakness of Other Gods
32:26 “I said, ‘I want to cut them in pieces.
I want to make people forget they ever existed.
32:27 But I fear the reaction of their enemies,
for their adversaries would misunderstand
and say, “Our power is great,
and the Lord has not done all this!”’
Deuteronomy 32:2
32:2 My teaching will drop like the rain,
my sayings will drip like the dew,
as rain drops upon the grass,
and showers upon new growth.
Deuteronomy 19:10-19
19:10 You must not shed innocent blood
in your land that the
Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance, for that would make you guilty.
19:11 However, suppose a person hates someone else
and stalks him, attacks him, kills him,
and then flees to one of these cities.
19:12 The elders of his own city must send for him and remove him from there to deliver him over to the blood avenger
to die.
19:13 You must not pity him, but purge out the blood of the innocent
from Israel, so that it may go well with you.
Laws Concerning Witnesses
19:14 You must not encroach on your neighbor’s property, which will have been defined in the inheritance you will obtain in the land the Lord your God is giving you.
19:15 A single witness may not testify against another person for any trespass or sin that he commits. A matter may be legally established only on the testimony of two or three witnesses.
19:16 If a false witness testifies against another person and accuses him of a crime,
19:17 then both parties to the controversy must stand before the Lord, that is, before the priests and judges who will be in office in those days.
19:18 The judges will thoroughly investigate the matter, and if the witness should prove to be false and to have given false testimony against the accused,
19:19 you must do to him what he had intended to do to the accused. In this way you will purge evil from among you.
Joel 2:17
2:17 Let the priests, those who serve the Lord, weep
from the vestibule all the way back to the altar.
Let them say, “Have pity, O Lord, on your people;
please do not turn over your inheritance to be mocked,
to become a proverb among the nations.
Why should it be said among the peoples,
“Where is their God?”
