Psalms 73:18-20
73:18 Surely you put them in slippery places;
you bring them down to ruin.
73:19 How desolate they become in a mere moment!
Terrifying judgments make their demise complete!
73:20 They are like a dream after one wakes up.
O Lord, when you awake you will despise them.
Job 24:24
24:24 They are exalted for a little while,
and then they are gone,

and gathered in,
and like a head of grain they are cut off.’
Hebrews 10:36-37
10:36 For you need endurance in order to do God’s will and so receive what is promised.
10:37 For
just a little longer and
he who is coming will arrive and not delay.
Hebrews 10:1
Concluding Exposition: Old and New Sacrifices Contrasted
10:1 For the law possesses a shadow of the good things to come but not the reality itself, and is therefore completely unable, by the same sacrifices offered continually, year after year, to perfect those who come to worship.
Hebrews 4:7
4:7 So God
again ordains a certain day, “Today,” speaking through David
after so long a time, as in the words quoted before,
“
O, that today you would listen as he speaks! Do not harden your hearts.”

6:10 They
cried out with a loud voice,
“How long,
Sovereign Master,
holy and true, before you judge those who live on the earth and avenge our blood?”
6:11 Each
of them was given a long white robe and they were told to rest for a little longer, until the full number was reached
of both their fellow servants
and their brothers who were going to be killed just as they had been.
