6:9 Now when the Lamb opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been violently killed because of the word of God and because of the testimony they had given.

Matthew 17:10-13
17:10 The disciples asked him,
“Why then do the experts in the law
say that Elijah must come first?”
17:11 He
answered, “Elijah does indeed come first and will restore all things.
17:12 And I tell you that Elijah has already come. Yet they did not recognize him, but did to him whatever they wanted. In
the same way, the Son of Man will suffer at their hands.”
17:13 Then the disciples understood that he was speaking to them about John the Baptist.
Mark 9:11
9:11 Then they asked him, “Why do the experts in the law say that Elijah must come first?”
Luke 1:17
1:17 And he will go as forerunner before the Lord
in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers back to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just,
to make ready for the Lord a people prepared for him.”

Herod’s Confusion about Jesus
9:7 Now Herod the tetrarch heard about everything that was happening, and he was thoroughly perplexed, because some people were saying that John had been raised from the dead,
9:8 while others were saying that Elijah had appeared, and still others that one of the prophets of long ago had risen.
9:9 Herod said, “I had John beheaded, but who is this about whom I hear such things?” So Herod wanted to learn about Jesus.
