16:10 Boast about his holy name!

Let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice!

1 Chronicles 16:35

16:35 Say this prayer: ¹  “Deliver us, O God who delivers us!

Gather us! Rescue us from the nations!

Then we will give thanks ²  to your holy name,

and boast about your praiseworthy deeds.” ³ 

Luke 1:47-50

1:47 and my spirit has begun to rejoice ⁴  in God my Savior,

[1:47]  ⁴ tn Or “rejoices.” The translation renders this aorist, which stands in contrast to the previous line’s present tense, as ingressive, which highlights Mary’s joyous reaction to the announcement. A comprehensive aorist is also possible here.
