David Praises God

17:16 David went in, sat before the Lord, and said: “Who am I, O Lord God, and what is my family, ¹  that you should have brought me to this point?

1 Chronicles 17:25

17:25 for you, my God, have revealed to your servant that you will build a dynasty ²  for him. That is why your servant has had the courage to pray to you. ³ 

1 Chronicles 22:11

22:11 “Now, my son, may the Lord be with you! May you succeed and build a temple for the Lord your God, just as he announced you would. ⁴

[17:25]  ³ tn Heb “That is why your servant found to pray before you.” Perhaps the phrase אֶת לִבּוֹ (’et libbo, “his heart”) should be supplied as the object of the verb “found.”
