10:28 Solomon acquired his horses from Egypt ¹  and from Que; the king’s traders purchased them from Que.

1 Kings 10:2

10:2 She arrived in Jerusalem ²  with a great display of pomp, ³  bringing with her camels carrying spices, ⁴  a very large quantity of gold, and precious gems. She visited Solomon and discussed with him everything that was on her mind.

Egypt Will Disappoint

31:1 Those who go down to Egypt for help are as good as dead, ¹⁰ 

those who rely on war horses,

and trust in Egypt’s many chariots ¹¹ 

and in their many, many horsemen. ¹² 

But they do not rely on the Holy One of Israel ¹³ 

and do not seek help from the Lord.

[10:2]  ³ tn Heb “with very great strength.” The Hebrew term חַיִל (khayil, “strength”) may refer here to the size of her retinue (cf. NAB, NASB, NIV, NRSV) or to the great wealth she brought with her.
