The Lord Gives Solomon Wisdom

1:1 Solomon son of David solidified his royal authority, ¹  for ²  the Lord his God was with him and magnified him greatly.

2 Chronicles 21:8

21:8 During Jehoram’s ³  reign Edom freed themselves from Judah’s control and set up their own king. ⁴

[1:1]  ² tn The disjunctive clause (note the vav [ו] + subject pattern) probably has a causal nuance here.

[21:8]  ³ tn Heb “his”; the referent (Jehoram) has been specified in the translation for clarity and for stylistic reasons.

[21:8]  ⁴ tn Heb “in his days Edom rebelled from under the hand of Judah and enthroned a king over them.”
