33:9 But Manasseh misled the people of ¹  Judah and the residents of Jerusalem so that they sinned more than the nations whom the Lord had destroyed ahead of the Israelites.

Ezekiel 16:27

16:27 So see here, I have stretched out my hand against you and cut off your rations. I have delivered you into the power of those who hate you, the daughters of the Philistines, who were ashamed by your obscene conduct.

Ezekiel 16:47

16:47 Have you not copied their behavior ²  and practiced their abominable deeds? In a short time ³  you became even more depraved in all your conduct than they were!

Ezekiel 16:51-52

16:51 Samaria has not committed half the sins you have; you have done more abominable deeds than they did. ⁴  You have made your sisters appear righteous with all the abominable things you have done. 16:52 So now, bear your disgrace, because you have given your sisters reason to justify their behavior. ⁵  Because the sins you have committed were more abominable than those of your sisters; they have become more righteous than you. So now, be ashamed and bear the disgrace of making your sisters appear righteous.

[33:9]  ¹ tn Heb “misled Judah.” The words “the people of” are supplied in the translation for clarity. The Hebrew text uses the name “Judah” here by metonymy for the people of Judah.

[16:47]  ² tn Heb “walked in their ways.”

[16:47]  ³ tn The Hebrew expression has a temporal meaning as illustrated by the use of the phrase in 2 Chr 12:7.

[16:51]  ⁴ tn Or “you have multiplied your abominable deeds beyond them.”
