5:11 The priests left the holy place. 1  All the priests who participated had consecrated themselves, no matter which division they represented. 2

7:12 the Lord appeared to Solomon at night and said to him: “I have answered 3  your prayer and chosen this place to be my temple where sacrifices are to be made. 4

[5:11]  1 tn Heb “and when the priests went from the holy place.” The syntactical relationship of this temporal clause to the following context is unclear. Perhaps the thought is completed in v. 14 after a lengthy digression.

[5:11]  2 tn Heb “Indeed [or “for”] all the priests who were found consecrated themselves without guarding divisions.”

[7:12]  3 tn Heb “I have heard.”

[7:12]  4 tn Heb “temple of sacrifice.” This means the Lord designated the temple as the place for making sacrifices, and this has been clarified in the translation.
