14:22 Azariah ¹  built up Elat and restored it to Judah after the king ²  had passed away. ³

[14:22]  ² sn This must refer to Amaziah.

[14:22]  ³ tn Heb “lay with his fathers.”

[16:6]  ⁴ tc Some prefer to read “the king of Edom” and “for Edom” here. The names Syria (Heb “Aram,” אֲרָם, ’aram) and Edom (אֱדֹם, ’edom) are easily confused in the Hebrew consonantal script.
