2 Kings 16:17-18

Context

16:17 King Ahaz took off the frames of the movable stands, and removed the basins from them. He took “The Sea” 1  down from the bronze bulls that supported it 2  and put it on the pavement. 16:18 He also removed the Sabbath awning 3  that had been built 4  in the temple and the king’s outer entranceway, on account of the king of Assyria. 5 

2 Kings 12:17-18

Context

12:17 At that time King Hazael of Syria attacked 6  Gath and captured it. Hazael then decided to attack Jerusalem. 7  12:18 King Jehoash of Judah collected all the sacred items that his ancestors Jehoshaphat, Jehoram, and Ahaziah, kings of Judah, had consecrated, as well as his own sacred items and all the gold that could be found in the treasuries of the Lord’s temple and the royal palace. He sent it all 8  to King Hazael of Syria, who then withdrew 9  from Jerusalem.

18:15 Hezekiah gave him all the silver in 10  the Lord’s temple and in the treasuries of the royal palace. 18:16 At that time King Hezekiah of Judah stripped the metal overlays from the doors of the Lord’s temple and from the posts which he had plated 11  and gave them to the king of Assyria.
