Elisha Helps a Widow and Her Sons

4:1 Now a wife of one of the prophets ¹  appealed ²  to Elisha for help, saying, “Your servant, my husband is dead. You know that your servant was a loyal follower of the Lord. ³  Now the creditor is coming to take away my two boys to be his servants.”

34:19 The godly ⁴  face many dangers, ⁵ 

but the Lord saves ⁶  them ⁷  from each one of them.

Hebrews 12:6

12:6 “For the Lord disciplines the one he loves and chastises every son he accepts.” ⁸ 

Hebrews 12:10-11

12:10 For they disciplined us for a little while as seemed good to them, but he does so for our benefit, that we may share his holiness. 12:11 Now all discipline seems painful at the time, not joyful. ⁹  But later it produces the fruit of peace and righteousness ¹⁰  for those trained by it.
