[32:6]  2 tn Or “treat” (TEV).

[13:13]  3 tn Heb “men, sons of Belial.” The Hebrew term בְּלִיַּעַל (bÿliyyaal) has the idea of worthlessness, without morals or scruples (HALOT 133-34 s.v.). Cf. NAB, NRSV “scoundrels”; TEV, CEV “worthless people”; NLT “worthless rabble.”

[13:13]  4 tc The LXX and Tg read “your” for the MT’s “their.”

[13:13]  5 tn The translation understands the relative clause as a statement by Moses, not as part of the quotation from the evildoers. See also v. 2.

[26:1]  6 tn Heb “and it will come to pass that.”

[26:2]  7 tn Heb “the Lord your God.” The pronoun has been used in the translation for stylistic reasons to avoid redundancy.

[26:2]  8 sn The place where he chooses to locate his name. This is a circumlocution for the central sanctuary, first the tabernacle and later the Jerusalem temple. See Deut 12:1-14 and especially the note on the word “you” in v. 14.

[16:9]  9 tn Heb “the seven weeks.” The translation uses a pronoun to avoid redundancy in English.
