[10:35]  1 sn See Luke 24:47.

[10:35]  2 tn Or “shows reverence for him.”

[10:35]  3 tn Grk “works righteousness”; the translation “does what is right” for this phrase in this verse is given by L&N 25.85.

[13:10]  4 tn Or “unscrupulousness.”

[13:10]  5 sn “You who…paths of the Lord?” This rebuke is like ones from the OT prophets: Jer 5:27; Gen 32:11; Prov 10:7; Hos 14:9. Five separate remarks indicate the magician’s failings. The closing rhetorical question of v. 10 (“will you not stop…?”) shows how opposed he is to the way of God.

[17:31]  7 tn Or “fixed.”

[17:31]  8 sn The world refers to the whole inhabited earth.

[17:31]  9 tn Or “appointed.” BDAG 723 s.v. ὁρίζω 2.b has “of persons appoint, designate, declare: God judges the world ἐν ἀνδρὶ ᾧ ὥρισεν through a man whom he has appointed Ac 17:31.”

[17:31]  10 tn The participle ἀναστήσας (anasthsa") indicates means here.

[24:25]  10 tn Grk “he”; the referent (Paul) has been specified in the translation for clarity.

[24:25]  11 tn Or “speaking about.”

[24:25]  12 tn Grk “and self-control.” This καί (kai) has not been translated since English normally uses a coordinating conjunction only between the last two elements in a series of three or more.

[24:25]  13 sn See the note on Felix in 23:26.

[24:25]  14 tn Grk “becoming.” The participle γενόμενος (genomenos) has been translated as a finite verb due to requirements of contemporary English style.

[24:25]  15 tn Or “when I find time.” BDAG 639 s.v. μεταλαμβάνω 2 has “καιρὸν μ. have an opportunity = find timeAc 24:25.”
