Acts 17:32

17:32 Now when they heard about ¹  the resurrection from the dead, some began to scoff, ²  but others said, “We will hear you again about this.”

24:25 While Paul ³  was discussing ⁴  righteousness, self-control, ⁵  and the coming judgment, Felix ⁶  became ⁷  frightened and said, “Go away for now, and when I have an opportunity, ⁸  I will send for you.”

Acts 25:19-20

[17:32]  ² tn L&N 33.408 has “some scoffed (at him) Ac 17:32” for ἐχλεύαζον (ecleuazon) here; the imperfect verb has been translated as an ingressive imperfect (“began to scoff”).

[24:25]  ³ tn Grk “he”; the referent (Paul) has been specified in the translation for clarity.

[24:25]  ⁵ tn Grk “and self-control.” This καί (kai) has not been translated since English normally uses a coordinating conjunction only between the last two elements in a series of three or more.
