Hosea 10:14

Context
Bethel Will Be Destroyed Like Beth Arbel

10:14 The roar of battle will rise against your people;

all your fortresses will be devastated,

[22:6]  1 tn Heb “and the mother sitting upon the chicks or the eggs.”

[22:6]  2 tn Heb “sons,” used here in a generic sense for offspring.

[10:14]  3 tn Heb “as the devastation of Shalman.” The genitive noun שַׁלְמַן (shalman, “Shalman”) functions as a subjective genitive: “as Shalman devastated [Beth Arbel].”
