[26:3]  1 tc For the MT reading “your God,” certain LXX mss have “my God,” a contextually superior rendition followed by some English versions (e.g., NAB, NASB, TEV). Perhaps the text reflects dittography of the kaf (כ) at the end of the word with the following preposition כִּי (ki).

[26:3]  2 tc The Syriac adds “your God” to complete the usual formula.

[26:3]  3 tn Heb “swore on oath.”

[26:3]  4 tn Heb “fathers” (also in vv. 7, 15).

[11:23]  5 tn Heb “took.”

[11:23]  6 tn Heb “according to all which the Lord said to Moses.” The translation assumes this refers to the promise of the land (see 1:3). Another possibility is that it refers to the Lord’s instructions, in which case the phrase could be translated, “just as the Lord had instructed Moses” (so NLT; cf. also NIV “had directed Moses”).

[11:23]  7 tn Heb “and Joshua gave it for an inheritance to Israel according to their allotted portions by their tribes.”

[21:43]  8 tn Heb “which he had sworn to give to their fathers.”

[21:43]  9 tn Or “possessed.”

[21:44]  10 tn Heb “gave them rest all around.”

[21:44]  11 tn Heb “according to all he swore to their fathers.”

[21:44]  12 tn Heb “not a man stood from before them from all their enemies.”

[21:45]  13 tn Heb “the house of Israel.” Cf. NCV “the Israelites”; TEV “the people of Israel”; CEV, NLT “Israel.”

[21:45]  14 tn Heb “not a word from all the good word which the Lord spoke to the house of Israel fell; the whole came to pass.”

[23:14]  15 tn Heb “go the way of all the earth.”

[23:14]  16 tn Or “soul.”

[23:14]  17 tn Heb “one word from all these words which the Lord your God spoke to you has not fallen, the whole has come to pass for you, one word from it has not fallen.”

[105:43]  18 tn Heb “and he led his people out with joy, with a ringing cry, his chosen ones.”

[105:44]  19 tn Heb “and the [product of the] work of peoples they possessed.”
