Esther 4:8

4:8 He also gave him a written copy of the law that had been disseminated ¹  in Susa for their destruction so that he could show it to Esther and talk to her about it. He also gave instructions that she should go to the king to implore him and petition him on behalf of her people.

Psalms 122:6-9

122:6 Pray ²  for the peace of Jerusalem!

May those who love her prosper! ³ 

122:7 May there be peace inside your defenses,

and prosperity ⁴  inside your fortresses! ⁵ 

122:8 For the sake of my brothers and my neighbors

I will say, “May there be peace in you!”

122:9 For the sake of the temple of the Lord our God

I will pray for you to prosper. ⁶

[122:7]  ⁵ tn The psalmist uses second feminine singular pronominal forms to address personified Jerusalem.

[122:9]  ⁶ tn Heb “I will seek good for you.” The psalmist will seek Jerusalem’s “good” through prayer.
