Ezekiel 10:2

10:2 The Lord ¹  said to the man dressed in linen, “Go between the wheelwork ²  underneath the cherubim. ³  Fill your hands with burning coals from among the cherubim and scatter them over the city.” He went as I watched.

Ezekiel 10:6-7

10:6 When the Lord ⁴  commanded the man dressed in linen, “Take fire from within the wheelwork, from among the cherubim,” the man ⁵  went in and stood by one of the wheels. ⁶  10:7 Then one of the cherubim ⁷  stretched out his hand ⁸  toward the fire which was among the cherubim. He took some and put it into the hands of the man dressed in linen, who took it and left.

Leviticus 16:4

16:4 He must put on a holy linen tunic, ⁹  linen leggings are to cover his body, ¹⁰  and he is to wrap himself with a linen sash ¹¹  and wrap his head with a linen turban. ¹²  They are holy garments, so he must bathe ¹³  his body in water and put them on.

Revelation 15:6

15:6 and the seven angels who had the seven plagues came out of the temple, dressed in clean bright linen, wearing wide golden belts ¹⁴  around their chests.

[16:4]  ¹⁰ tn Heb “shall be on his flesh.” As in many instances in Lev 15, the term “flesh” or “body” here is euphemistic for the male genitals (J. Milgrom, Leviticus [AB], 1:1017, and J. E. Hartley, Leviticus [WBC], 222; cf. the note on Lev 15:2), which the priest must be careful not to expose during such ritual procedures (see Exod 20:26 with 28:42-43).

[16:4]  ¹¹ sn The sash fastened the tunic around the waist (Exod 28:4, 39; 29:9; 39:29).

[16:4]  ¹² tn Heb “and in a turban of linen he shall wrap.”

[16:4]  ¹³ tn Heb “and he shall bathe….”

[15:6]  ¹⁴ tn Or “wide golden sashes,” but these would not be diagonal, as some modern sashes are, but horizontal. The Greek term can refer to a wide band of cloth or leather worn on the outside of one’s clothing (L&N 6.178).
