Ezekiel 22:21-22

22:21 I will gather you and blow on you with the fire of my fury, and you will be melted in it. 22:22 As silver is melted in a furnace, so you will be melted in it, and you will know that I, the Lord, have poured out my anger on you.’”

16:6 because they poured out the blood of your saints and prophets,

so 1  you have given them blood to drink. They got what they deserved!” 2 

16:7 Then 3  I heard the altar reply, 4  “Yes, Lord God, the All-Powerful, 5  your judgments are true and just!”

[16:6]  1 tn Here καί (kai) has been translated as “so” to indicate that this judgment is the result of what these wicked people did to the saints and prophets.

[16:6]  2 tn Grk “They are worthy”; i.e., of this kind of punishment. By extension, “they got what they deserve.”

[16:7]  3 tn Here καί (kai) has been translated as “then” to indicate the implied sequence of events within the vision.

[16:7]  4 tn Grk “the altar saying.”

[16:7]  5 tn On this word BDAG 755 s.v. παντοκράτωρ states, “the Almighty, All-Powerful, Omnipotent (One) only of God…() κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὁ π. …Rv 1:8; 4:8; 11:17; 15:3; 16:7; 21:22.”
