Ezra 9:6

9:6 I prayed, ¹ 

“O my God, I am ashamed and embarrassed to lift my face to you, my God! For our iniquities have climbed higher than our heads, and our guilt extends to the heavens.

Numbers 32:14

32:14 Now look, you are standing in your fathers’ place, a brood of sinners, to increase still further the fierce wrath of the Lord against the Israelites.

Joshua 22:17-18

22:17 The sin we committed at Peor was bad enough. To this very day we have not purified ourselves; it even brought a plague on the community of the Lord. ²  22:18 Now today you dare to turn back ³  from following the Lord! You are rebelling today against the Lord; tomorrow he may break out in anger against ⁴  the entire community of Israel.
