Isaiah 29:8

29:8 It will be like a hungry man dreaming that he is eating,

only to awaken and find that his stomach is empty. ¹ 

It will be like a thirsty man dreaming that he is drinking,

only to awaken and find that he is still weak and his thirst unquenched. ² 

So it will be for the horde from all the nations

that fight against Mount Zion.

Isaiah 41:25

41:25 I have stirred up one out of the north ³  and he advances,

one from the eastern horizon who prays in my name. ⁴ 

He steps on ⁵  rulers as if they were clay,

like a potter treading the clay.

Isaiah 47:8

47:8 So now, listen to this,

O one who lives so lavishly, ⁶ 

who lives securely,

who says to herself, ⁷ 

‘I am unique! No one can compare to me! ⁸ 

I will never have to live as a widow;

I will never lose my children.’ ⁹ 

Isaiah 54:17

54:17 No weapon forged to be used against you will succeed;

you will refute everyone who tries to accuse you. ¹⁰ 

This is what the Lord will do for his servants –

I will vindicate them,” ¹¹ 

says the Lord.
