Colossians 1:4
Context1:4 since 4 we heard about your faith in Christ Jesus and the love that you have for all the saints.
[30:25] 1 tn Or “in the day of” (KJV).
[30:2] 2 tn Heb “those who go to descend to Egypt, but [of] my mouth they do not inquire.”
[30:2] 3 tn Heb “to seek protection in the protection of Pharaoh, and to seek refuge in the shade of Egypt.”
[1:4] 4 tn The adverbial participle ἀκούσαντες (akousante") is understood to be temporal and translated with “since.” A causal idea may also be in the apostle’s mind, but the context emphasizes temporal ideas, e.g., “from the day” (v. 6).
