Leviticus 3:3-5

3:3 Then the one presenting the offering ¹  must present a gift to the Lord from the peace offering sacrifice: He must remove the fat that covers the entrails and all the fat that surrounds the entrails, ²  3:4 the two kidneys with the fat on their sinews, and the protruding lobe on the liver (which he is to remove along with the kidneys). ³  3:5 Then the sons of Aaron must offer it up in smoke on the altar atop the burnt offering that is on the wood in the fire as a gift of a soothing aroma to the Lord. ⁴

Leviticus 4:8-10

Exodus 29:13

29:13 You are to take all the fat that covers the entrails, and the lobe ¹⁴  that is above the liver, and the two kidneys and the fat that is on them, and burn them ¹⁵  on the altar.

[51:6]  ¹⁶ sn The juxtaposition of two occurrences of “look” in vv. 5-6 draws attention to the sharp contrast between the sinful reality of the psalmist’s condition and the lofty ideal God has for him.
